Week 8- Finding your community

This weeks reading quotes “‘We are judged by the company we keep. When combined, actions and relationships create a foundation for social capital.” – Brian Solis. This is quite powerful as it suggests that any community an individual gets involved in or takes part of, will create a relationship as well as a new online social society.

The reading also discussed looking for online communities and how to get involved.

Some ways to get find an online community:
-Look for blogs and interact with them
-Look at any professional social groups
-Get involved in topic chats on social media (eg. Twitter)

Some ways to get involved in an online community:
-Follow it
-Interact with community/other users
-Create relationships
-Invite friends to join the online community
-Comment on members post
